USIBC and the U.S. Chamber Foundation are hosting an invitation-only discussion on private sector CSR initiatives designed to empower local communities and catalyze development efforts across India. Honorary Chairman of the Institute for Competitiveness Amit Kapoor will kick off the discussion with a presentation on his work with the Government of India and private sector partners to create a social progress index, which highlights the positive social and economic impacts on local areas of business operations. The event will then move to a discussion centered on how businesses can not only do good in Indian communities, but effectively communicate that work and the positive role played by the business community broadly to the GOI and other key stakeholders.
