The Voice of U.S.-India Industry Since 1975

FORMED IN 1975 at the request of the United States and Indian Governments, the U.S.-India Business Council connects the two largest democracies in the world and inspires sustainable solutions to business challenges both local and global. As an exclusive platform of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which was founded in 1912 and stands as the largest business advocacy organization in the world, we make business between the United States and India easier, more efficient, and more profitable.

Leveraging 47 years of experience, the U.S.-India Business Council has worked for decades to create an inclusive bilateral trade environment between India and the United States. We serve as the voice of industry, linking governments to businesses, and supporting long-term commercial partnerships that will nurture the spirit of entrepreneurship, create jobs, and strengthen the U.S.-India partnership as a force for global good.

Advancing a Bold Vision for Free Enterprise

"The U.S.-India Business Council is part of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which believes in the power of free enterprise for the happiness of people, not just in America, but all around the world"

Ambassador (ret.) Atul Keshap, USIBC President

Using our voice as the premiere trade organization in the U.S.-India corridor, USIBC promotes a bold and positive vision for the U.S.-India partnership and the role of our member companies in advancing innovation, human development, and mutual prosperity in the U.S., India, and the world.

We see the U.S.-India partnership as central to meeting the challenges of the 21st century, and global industry as the muscle and sinew that can deliver on shared strategic, economic, and humanitarian interests. From securing a free and open Indo-Pacific, to addressing the global climate crisis, to combatting gender-based inequality, we champion our membership across sectors as leaders in spearheading solutions.

We advance this vision through our consistent thought leadership, by elevating the contributions and impact of our member companies, and through our long-standing relationships with the governments of the world’s two largest democracies.
