Hitesh Jain leads the Energy and Environment, Infrastructure and Digital Economy portfolios in India. Based in Mumbai, Jain brings over 15 years of experience advocating and advising regulatory and industry stakeholders in the power generation, distribution, energy, smart grid, electric vehicle, Robotic Process Automation and cybersecurity sectors in India. Leveraging his skilled relationship management experience and technical know-how, he has developed strategies that build consensus around global market standards, international best practices, and enabling regulatory environments.
For the past 10 years, Jain worked with global safety certification company UL, overseeing business development and policy advocacy for the South Asia region. He represented UL on various international working groups, government constituted committees, and at industry forums focused on regulatory issues, safety and security compliance issues, to facilitating market access for new products. His advocacy work focused on the adoption of international technical regulations, standards, and the safe and secure development of innovative new products and technologies. On the client side, Jain advised executives on the potential impact of emerging policies and regulations on business operations, enables global market access. He convened stakeholders and contributed to the formation of technical regulations – particularly in the areas of cybersecurity, smart grid, distributed energy resources, renewables, telecommunication, electric vehicles, interoperability, ICT, UAS, energy storage, AGV, SCADA, RPA’s and O&G related areas. Jain also held roles with Cummins and Greaves Cotton Limited’s handline defense and retail business.
Jain is an Electrical and Electronics Engineer and holds a degree in Executive Management from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.
