USIBC HOSTS FINANCE MINISTER SITHARAMAN

The U.S.-India Business Council and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) are honored to host Indian Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman for an exclusive roundtable discussion with members. Minister Sitharaman is in Washington for the World Bank and International Monetary Fund meetings the week of October 14.

After a series of sweeping economic reforms, including a major cut to corporate tax rates, Minister Sitharaman and the Government of India are focused on jump-starting the flagging Indian economy.  The Minister is also scheduled to meet heads of public sector banks (PSBs) in advance of her trip to the United States to take stock of recent measures to push credit and revive growth before the festive season.
