U.S.-India Business Council cordially invites you for a discussion on Meeting India’s Retirement Challenge

A critical new report by The Global Aging Institute in research partnership with The Principal Financial Group

Event Details & Speakers

As one of the world’s most rapidly developing countries, India is facing a demographic transition that often accompanies modernization.  Indian citizens are in better health and living longer.  Nuclear families are shrinking with fewer members to take care of elderly relatives. In short, the aging population is growing and their retirement needs must be addressed.  This phenomena presents both challenges and opportunities for India’s future. Fortunately, the Indian government is committed to addressing India’s retirement security challenges by making pension coverage a focus of its drive toward broader financial inclusion.

“Meeting India’s Retirement Challenge”, a report released by the Global Aging Institute (GAI) and Principal Financial Group discusses India’s growing retirement challenges, the progress the government is making and recommended solutions to help increase retirement security.

Join us for a presentation on the report’s main findings by Richard Jackson of the Global Aging Institute and a roundtable discussion of how to achieve retirement security in a rapidly developing and aging India and ways to improve financial inclusion in formal retirement programs for historically disenfranchised populations.
