INDIAN DATA PRIVACY BILL: RAPID RESPONSE CALL

The U.S.-India Business Council’s Privacy Working Group will host a rapid response call on India’s Personal Data Protection Bill (PDPB). Following approval by the Union Cabinet earlier this week, the bill is heading towards debate in India’s Parliament.  After our first call on Monday, USIBC is hosting a second follow-up call now that a copy of the bill’s text has become available.

Covington and Burling Partner and Chair for U.S. Privacy Kurt Wimmer and Khaitan & Co Partner for Corporate and Commercial, Data Privacy and Protection Supratim Chakraborty will moderate the discussion. Our speakers will share the latest on the bill, as well as their analysis on the bill’s content. We will also discuss options for further engagement and strategies for our privacy efforts in 2020.
