Dinesh Paliwal is president and chief executive officer of HARMAN, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co. that provides technology solutions for the automotive, consumer and enterprise markets. Prior to joining HARMAN, Paliwal spent 22 years with ABB Group where he last held the roles of President of ABB Group and Chairman and CEO of ABB North America. Paliwal serves on the boards of HARMAN, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Raytheon Company. He serves on corporate advisory boards of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The Wilson Center; and the India Business Advisory Council of Lincoln Center. He also serves on the board of directors of the U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC) and the Business Advisory Council of the Farmer School of Business, Miami University, and he is a member of the CEO Business Roundtable. In 2017, Recode named Paliwal to its Recode 100 list of technology influencers, Fortune magazine previously named Paliwal to its “Business Person of the Year” list, and Yahoo! Finance included him on a short list of 5-star CEOs. In addition to receiving honors for his contributions to advancing women’s causes, the T.J. Martell Foundation recognized him with its Music Innovation Award. In 2017, B’nai B’rith International honored Paliwal with its Distinguished Achievement Award and the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations (NECO) recognized him with the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor. Paliwal holds a master’s degree in engineering from IIT Roorkee. He also earned master’s degrees in applied science and engineering and in business administration from Miami University of Ohio.
