@USIBC on X, April 23, 2025: USIBC, in partnership with SIDM India, convened a high-level roundtable in New Delhi with Dr. Andrew Byers, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for South and Southeast Asia, and Doug Beck, Director of the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU.) The engagement, held as part of USIBC's commitment to strengthening the U.S.-India Major Defense Partnership, brought together senior industry leaders for a forward-looking dialogue on deepening bilateral collaboration. In his opening remarks, USIBC Managing Director Rahul Sharma reflected on the continued evolution of U.S.-India defense ties, emphasizing the importance of sustained industry engagement, innovation-driven cooperation, and the shared commitment to regional security. Participants engaged in a wide-ranging discussions on the U.S.-India COMPACT initiative, the ten-year defense framework, co-development and co-production opportunities, India’s MRO potential, Reciprocal Defense Procurement (RDP), and pathways to improve ease of doing business, IP protection, and workforce development.

Hon'ble CM shared his views on engaging with U.S. companies in sectors viz. including oil & gas, critical minerals, renewable energy, digital economy, pharma, agro, fintech, etc. Rahul highlighted USIBC member companies already working in Odisha as well as opportunities for working together and supporting Hon'ble Chief Minister in engaging with industry across sectors. The USIBC delegation included Dr. Sameer Guduru, Director - Aerospace & Defense and Pradeep Karuturi, Director - Energy.

Ambassador Kwatra spoke on the importance of FDI and strong commercial ties between the U.S. and India towards both nations' shared goals of mutual prosperity and growth, and emphasized the value of partnership between the private sector and all levels of government.
