USIBC Trade and Investment Initiative

In the Spotlight

USIBC recently hosted Mark Brunner, National Security Advisor to Senator Mark Warner, for a de-brief on the recent Senate/House CODEL to India. Full meeting minutes are now available on our members-only website.

Overview

USIBC's Trade and Investment Initiative (TII) aims to position USIBC and its member-companies as leaders on advancing bilateral trade and investment activities between the U.S. and India.

In light of recent movements by India to secure trade arrangements with other advanced economies (Japan, ASEAN, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, EU, Canada, etc), American companies could face a distinct market disadvantage when trading with or investing in India. TII will lead the charge to level the playing field for members and raise the U.S.-India commercial relationship to a position commensurate with the bilateral strategic partnership.

Previous Trade Initiative Studies

Just as the US-India trade relationship has expanded, so has the bilateral investment relationship. A new "two way street" is being paved by multinationals in both countries. The "Investing in America: The Indian Story" initiative explores the evolving story of Indian company investments in the US and how they are contributing to the American economy and social fabric.
