INTERNSHIPS:
The U.S-India Business Council is CURRENTLY SEEKING A SPRING INTERN.
POSITION: Research and Policy Intern (Spring 2012)
USIBC is seeking a Research and Policy Intern to assist staff with policy research and analysis, program management and communications.
DETAILS OF DUTIES:
- Research and analyze developments in India's economic policy and assist in the preparation of background briefs, sector updates, press releases and official correspondence.
- Track relevant U.S. and Indian legislation, calls for comments, and position papers of interest to member-companies.
- Research the activities of current and potential member-companies and foundations, as assigned.
- Participate in relevant government and company meetings, as appropriate.
- Assist staff in the planning and organization of Council events, presentations and missions to India.
- Assist staff in contact management, website maintenance, and member communications.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Availability THROUGH Tuesday, June 12, 2012 to assist in the planning and execution of the Council's Annual General Meeting (AGM).
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree (those enrolled in the final year of an undergraduate degree program will also be considered); graduate student preferred.
- Availability 2 days (Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Friday) out of the week.
- Strong writing skills (submission of writing sample required).
- Interest in trade and investment policy, political economy, public policy and/or government affairs.
- Interest in U.S.-India commercial relations; previous India knowledge and/or experience preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Professional demeanor and comfort attending member-company and government meetings.
- Team-player willing to pitch in for "all hands on deck" events.
